So far he hasnt been bad, but he hasnt done anything to warrant staying up. We'll see how the next 3 games go.

Kevin, I understand you want to get this out to beat Garth, but I didn't see the "couple" of reasons why this is a good idea. Besides experience, what is the other reason?
Does experience overshadow the fact, that a. his confidence might get shot?

What was the difference of starting Vanek in the minors vs. keeping Grigs up? Did Vanek not need the experience in the NHL?

I'm torn on the thought, so I don't know either way.

Blasphemy to even think about sending him down. He is the most complete hockey player in the world

Wrong blog.

He's been playing smart hockey. Not doing too much or too little. Once he gets his legs under him he'll show up on the scoresheet. He also played his first away game in Toronto of all places which, as many sabres have said, is one of the toughest buildings along with Montreal.

It's way more beneficial for him to stay up. He's looked steady and like Kevin said, his line is sort of restricting him right now. I just hope he stays.

We should actually be glad. Had he scored 2 goals in the First 2 games because expectations would have exploded and probably hurt him and the team long term. Consequently it's also good he hasnt had nasty turnovers or inoportune penalties either. He's been quietly ok. And that's just fine.

He should stay up at least he is on a team with guys like Steve Ott+Thomas Vanek+Pominville, so he won't get infected by the Roy-attitude, I think he could get a lot more out of staying up, he has not made any glaring mistakes, which is probably a good way to start, but he certainly hasn't started like Tarasenko! Blues for the Cup!

Garth is an idiot, probably wants pominville to give grigorenko the C.
He looked good, hasnt looked out of place but i dont think he'll be a positive difference maker this year. A stronger role in Rochester may help more for experience than a limited role with the big club. Is he more valuable with the sabres than Adam or Gerbe will be ?

Way too much overanalyzing going on here. There should only be one question that matters: are the Sabres a better team with Grigorenko on the 23 man roster than without him? If the answer is "yes", then he should stay. If it's "no", then he shouldn't. It was no different than with Tyler Myers.

He can't go to Rochester. Nobody under the age of 20 that played in the CHL can.

He trains with Chuck Norris during the day .
And these past 2 games He has been pushing Miller to play better. Nother like someone trying to take your job.

Myers may have had some issues, but he's not killing them out there either. He's just not doing what think he should be doing.

Just because he played in Europe during the lockout doesn't mean his game is going to be perfect here. The NHL game is the best in the world for a reason. It's faster, more intense, and more physical. He's also just coming off of an injury that kept him out of the lineup in Europe for a month.

Can we just give him a week or two to maybe adjust?

Personally, I don't believe he benefits in anything by going back to the Juniors. Even being a healthy scratch in the NHL would be better for him at this point than the Juniors.

If he could go to the AHL, it would be different. But since its not, just leave him in the NHL.

Some people are ready to find a Mack truck and run him over. It's been 2 games. He's also a notoriously slow starter. I think he's been better to start this season than he was last year. So, that's progress right??

All the teams have been away from the game for 9 months ? i'm sure it will take 5 of 10 games to get back into the swing of things .

Most have been on vacation enjoying life.
